Every road trip has its share of epic moments. The JACKALOPE West Coast Tour is no exception. Here are a few juicy anecdotes and tasty stories from our western epic tour.

Our first day of shooting started at the West Edmonton Mall. We were all really excited to go to the world’s largest indoor wave pool, located in a tropical oasis where the average temperature is 31 °C. Hard to complain! Cody knew the place well because he had been there before. He offered himself as a guide in the slides to bring us to the gnarliest ones to give us a little rush of adrenaline before starting to film. We quickly went to the Nessie’s Revenge. A descent with three pronounced bumps that gives a slight feeling of jumping between each bump. Cody gave us the bright idea of giving himself a little extra push at each bump to gain some altitude, except that as he showed us the said maneuver, he gave himself such a big push that he came close to completely ejecting himself off the slide. A 10 foot fall by our host on our first day of shooting, let’s face it, would have been anything but glorious.

Sidney McGill not only introduced us to an incredible sport (cyclocross) but she blew us away with her incredible athletic ability. In addition to her strength and cardio, she showed us that she could take a lot of punishment. During our shoot, she ventured into a slightly too slippery road. As a result, she veered off her track and went straight into the forest at MAC3, taking some branches with her. She quickly got up and apologized for falling. What could be more typically Canadian than someone who crashes big time and apologizes for it? Sidney, you are a legend.

Even if during the JACKALOPE West Coast Tour our days were busy and we gave our 100% to get the best pictures, at night we still had some energy left to go around the city. We must admit that we fell in love with electric scooters. Ok, we give it to you, there are a lot of prejudices in front of this mode of displacement but there is a way to make the whole extreme (video in support). After having understood how they work, it didn’t take much for us to start pushing each other to clear the biggest gaps possible. Our stunts were so cool that we even thought about asking Lime for a sponsorship … no joke. We would have definitely liked to continue exploring Edmonton, but we had a busy itinerary. No time to fool around, we set course for our next destination: BANFF!
