What is JACKALOPE VIRGINIA BEACH?

A 3 day vibrant festival renowned for its unique atmosphere, the quality of the athletes competing in high adrenaline action sports such as skateboarding, bouldering, break dancing and BASE jumping.  JACKALOPE is the ultimate gathering of Canada’s action sport communities, bringing together top athletes and professionals in the featured sports as well as enthusiasts and curious. This thrilling festival hosts world-class competitions and demonstrations by world-renowned skateboarders, BASE jumpers, breakdancers and boulderers.

In addition to all the things to see, there is also a multitude of things to do like shopping in the pop up shops, savoring our coastal flavors at local restaurants, experiencing surf sessions with our surf community, or chilling in the beer garden enjoying live music on the beach. Great times to share with friends and-or family.

What is the JACKALOPE Montréal 2023 festival?

JACKALOPE Montréal is a three-day festival, from 25 to 27 August, renowned for its unique atmosphere and the quality of the athletes competing in high-adrenaline action sports such as skateboarding and bouldering.

It’s the ultimate gathering of Canada’s action sports communities, bringing together the best athletes and professionals in the featured sports as well as enthusiasts and the curious. This exciting festival features world-class competitions and demonstrations by world-renowned skateboarders and climbers.

As well as the sporting side of things, JACKALOPE has plenty to offer, from shopping in the pop-up shops and enjoying the food trucks to relaxing in the beer garden and enjoying live music with friends and family.

Is admission to JACKALOPE free?

YES! JACKALOPE is open to the public of all ages and admission is free

What can I eat/drink at JACKALOPE?

Food trucks & bars will be available to satisfy your cravings throughout the festival. You can bring your lunch/bottle of water.

Where does the JACKALOPE take place and how do I get there?

At the Esplanade of the Olympic Stadium in Montreal. The entrance is located on Pie-IX between Sherbrooke and Pierre-De-Coubertin near the Nomad Bloc Gym. The nearest metro entrance is Pie-IX metro station. Paid parking ($25 per day) available at P1 – P2.

When is JACKALOPE FEST?

The JACKALOPE festival takes place from August 25 to 27, 2023. The doors of the site open on Friday 5pm.

Hey, since cannabis is legal now, that means I can use it at JACKALOPE, right?

Yes but all cannabis products brought to the site must be in sealed packaging from the SQDC, or any other government source, and must have been legally purchased from one of these government entities. The packaging must be closed and sealed. Any cannabis products that do not comply with the law will not be accepted on the site. An individual may have in his possession a maximum of 30 grams, which is the maximum quantity provided for by law. No sale of cannabis is authorized on the site.

As per Quebec laws, you must be 21+ to bring cannabis products on the site. If you wish to bring and consume cannabis on the premises, please have two (2) valid pieces of identification with you.

Consume in moderation.

Can I smoke cigarettes or vape on the site?

Smoking areas will be defined. Cigarette packages must be sealed in their original packaging.

Are dogs accepted?

Yes, of course! However, you must put your dog on a leash.

Are credit cards accepted? What about debit cards? Cash?

Visa, MasterCard, Debit are accepted. Bars, the Jackalope gift store and the ticket office do not accept cash.

JACKALOPE BLOCK PARTY

What is Block Party?

It’s a community skatepark tour around Canada. Each stop has a beer garden (fenced and secured), food, and a skate contest that can lead the 2 winners (Men/Women) in Montreal for the Jackalope Fest with an all expenses paid trip.

Where to eat?

Each stop will have food trucks or BBQ set up where you can buy food (debit/credit only).

What are categories?

Men and women Advanced & Intermediate (under 13) categories. Both men and women winners in advanced category will win an all expenses paid trip to compete at the Jackalope Festival August 19th-21st, 2022.

Can I come watch?

Yes, it’s open for spectators. We invite everyone to come and chill.

TOUR DE BLOC

What is Tour de Bloc?

This year’s multi-stop bouldering competition will host four events from BC to Nova Scotia. Founded in 2003, progenitor Luigi Montilla has organized and hosted over a decade’s worth of these historic competition. For the first time since the pandemic began, the competition has returned.

Although the series closed along with all Canadian competitions, it was Canada’s premier, non-National-Sport-Federation affiliated Bouldering Series. Existing outside the Continuous National Ranking system that athletes climb in for Nationals, TDB runs more like a party with partner gyms hosting exciting events that everyone can participate in.
