Newcastle, are you ready?

Some of you may have already caught the news, but if not: on 14–15 November 2025, the JACKALOPE BLOCK PARTY is landing at South Newcastle Beach Skate Park!

After 12 years of bringing the hype across North America, JACKALOPE is touching down in Australia for the very first time. Get ready for two days packed with skateboarding, music, art, food, and straight-up good vibes. The best part? It’s completely free for the public.

Skateboarding Like You’ve Never Seen It

Friday kicks off with the Open Best Trick, where all registered athletes in the competition can drop in. Three zones, three chances: one on the street section, one with a street/transition combo, and one in the transition section. It’s pure cash-for-tricks energy, rewarding the heaviest tricks on the spot.

The top skaters from the Open session will then earn their place in the Guest Best Trick, going head-to-head with invited athletes such as Beaver Fleming (USA) and Mia Kretzer (AUS) for a showdown you don’t want to miss.

Saturday is where it gets next-level: we’re bringing an hybrid contest that fuses the street and transition sections of the park into one epic battleground.

Skaters will be judged on the capacity to show their skills either in street, and transition, meaning they’ll have to crush it all.

The stakes are high: the top 5 skaters in each category (men and women) will take home cash prizes, with a $5,000 total pot per category. And one MVP will even score an all-expenses-paid trip to JACKALOPE Virginia Beach in 2026.

The JACKALOPE BLOCK PARTY is exactly what it sounds like: a celebration of culture where everyone is invited.

• GUEST best trick & signings with pro athletes
• Live painting activity with local legend Mitch Revs
• Surf sessions with Newcastle Surf School
• Food trucks, vendor village, and plenty of spots to hang with friends
• After-parties (Thursday–Friday–Saturday) that keep the energy alive way past sunset. Live music at the Friday after party with Maple’s Pet Dinosaur + Birdman Band (yes, they’re bringing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater soundtrack vibes)

Basically, it’s everything you love about Newcastle’s coastal lifestyle, amped up to event level.
