MONSTER ENERGY BMX AND SKATE DEMO: SOME HEAVY HITTERS ON DECK

May 25, 2025 / By jeremy

Monster Energy is back; and they’re not coming quietly. Fueled by Monster Energy, this double demo brings together two disciplines that don’t usually share the stage. And when they do, sparks fly.

This year’s Monster Show is led by Canada’s own Matt Berger, a technical powerhouse known for his precision and consistency.

Hailing from Kamloops, British Columbia, Berger made history as the first amateur to qualify for the full Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Tour, and he represented Canada in skateboarding’s Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, finishing 20th in the men’s street event. His smooth style and competitive edge make him a standout on any course.

Joining Berger are special guests Dominick Walker and David Loy, two seasoned pros bringing their unique flair to the boardwalk. Walker, affectionately known as “Domo,” is recognized for his fluid and stylish approach to street skating.

A protégé of Ray Barbee and one of the first skaters on Nyjah Huston‘s Disorder Skateboards team, Walker’s effortless flow have earned him a dedicated following.

Loy, a long-standing member of Birdhouse Skateboards, brings a raw and powerful style to the mix. With a career spanning over a decade, he’s showcased his skills in major competitions like the X Games and Street League Skateboarding (SLS), consistently delivering high-impact performances.

But that’s just half the chaos. Monster’s BMX side of things is locked and loaded with Daniel Sandoval, Brady Baker, and Jeremy Malott ; three contest killers who ride like the crowd is their fuel.

Sandoval, from Corona, California, is known for pioneering tricks like the world’s first 720 tailwhip to barspin and multiple X Games podiums, including gold in BMX Park.

Baker, 22, from New Jersey, made history as the first rookie to win both BMX Dirt Elimination and Dirt Final at the 2024 X Games and continues to push limits with tricks like a backflip triple whip.

Malott, from Lancaster, California, won the 2016 Monster Recon Tour and stunned fans with the first 360 triple whip to barspin at FISE, cementing his pro status with a breakthrough video in 2021.

Expect Sandoval’s endless combos, Malott’s steezy aerials, and Baker’s rising energy to make the ramps feel way too small. There’s a reason these guys headline.

Holding it all together? None other than Dan Hubbard, the unmistakable voice of action sports. If Dan’s on the mic, you know it’s official.
