Jake Ilardi and Ryan Decenzo take over the boardwalk
Jake Ilardi hails from Osprey, Florida, and brings big-energy skateboarding wherever he goes. An Olympian for Team USA at Tokyo 2020, Jake is known for his consistency, creativity, and huge tricks. He placed 4th at the 2023 World Skate Championships in Sharjah and secured 2nd at Jackalope Virginia Beach in 2023, so he knows the terrain and is ready to step it up again.

Rolling in with him is Ryan Decenzo, the Canadian powerhouse from Delta, British Columbia. With over a decade of dominance and multiple X Games medals, including street gold in 2016 and bronze in 2023. Ryan’s mix of tech precision and go-for-broke lines makes him a constant threat and a must-watch.

Laura Žáčková, representing Prague, Czech Republic, is another rising street star. At just 14, she’s already making serious waves on the global scene with power, speed, and a fearless approach to technical tricks. She stole the spotlight at the 2024 World Rookie Skateboard Finals in Prague, landing the top Grom Girls score with a flawless first run and walking away with multiple awards, including the Red Bull Special Award for Best Girl Overall and a Golden Ticket to every World Rookie Tour stop next season.
And she’s not just dominating at home ; Laura’s been lighting up the JACKALOPE circuit too. In 2023, she took second place at JACKALOPE Montréal, and in 2024, she came back even stronger, winning first place in the Women’s Street Final at JACKALOPE Mississauga. Her message is clear: she’s not here just to compete ; she’s here to claim her place among the best.

Joining her is Chika Konoe. At just 6 years old, Chika from Irvine, California, has already made a significant mark in the skateboarding world. Her journey gained widespread attention when a video of her landing her first kickflip went viral, capturing the emotional moment she and her father shared tears of joy . This achievement was the result of two months of dedicated practice, often guided by her older brother, Sojiro

Chika’s commitment extends beyond viral moments; she’s an active competitor in the California Amateur Skateboard League (CASL). Notably, she secured first place in the Street Girls division at the CASL CA Showdown in November 2023 . Her unique blend of technical skill and expressive, dance-like movements distinguishes her style, bringing a fresh rhythm to every skate plaza she graces.
Vert: the next wave is already here
The vert ramp at Virginia Beach will be the launchpad for a new generation that’s rewriting what’s possible.
Jada Ward, hailing from Palm Beach, Queensland, Australia, is a rising star in the world of vert skateboarding. At just 16 years old, she has already made a significant impact on the international skateboarding scene. In 2024, Jada showcased her exceptional skills at various competitions. Notably, she clinched first place in the Women’s Vert Finals at both JACKALOPE Mississauga and JACKALOPE Montréal. Her performance at the X Games Pro Vert at the US Open earned her a third-place finish, further solidifying her status among the top female vert skaters. Additionally, Jada secured sixth place in the Women’s Vert Finals at the World Skate Games in Italy, showcasing her competitive edge on a global stage.As she continues to evolve and push the boundaries of vert skateboarding, Jada Ward is undoubtedly a talent to watch in the coming years.
Also from Australia’s Gold Coast, Summer Rackley is a 13-year-old phenom who’s already stacking accolades. One of the few girls worldwide to land a 540 McTwist, she trains daily at the Level Up AUS Academy and represented Australia at the 2024 World Skate Games in Rome. With a 3rd place finish at Jackalope Montréal in 2024 and sponsors like Vans Australia, Pyramid Skate Shop, and Cockroach Wheels behind her, she’s more than ready.

A legend enters the chat
Just got the word: Bob Burnquist is coming to JACKALOPE Virginia Beach 2025.
Yeah, the Bob Burnquist. Born in Rio de Janeiro, now living in the U.S, and still one of the most respected vert skaters in the game. Bob’s been pushing the boundaries of skateboarding since the ’90s. Everyone knows Dreamland; Bob’s private skatepark packed with insane, never-before-seen features, including one of the only permanent mega ramps in the world. It’s basically a playground for the impossible, where Bob’s landed tricks no one else even dares to try.
Over the years, Bob has accumulated 30 X Games medals, including 14 golds, making him one of the most decorated athletes in X Games history . He’s invented a lot of tricks, and for some, he’s still the only one in the world who can pull them off. Bob’s involvement with JACKALOPE began in 2019, marking a significant milestone for the festival. That year, he joined forces with other skateboarding legends like Elliot Sloan and Sandro Dias for a vert demo that left the crowd in awe.
